Burke is truly a modern day Renaissance man. Like many people he skis, bikes, and cooks. But he also collects antique shaving equipment, has an affinity for hot rod art from the 1950s, and can often be found at weeknight bar trivia events.
The design addresses community concerns by repeating the rhythm of the historic existing building plan, defining a new central building entry, and using the language of the existing architecture as a basis for the new.
The new one-story building is designed as a foreground building to historic Chapel of the Resurrection. Its simple geometry and natural building materials fit the landscape and assure the continued predominance of the Chapel.
